- Have an original idea that is not copied completely from another source
- Relief sculpture ideas must be based off of one of the cultures we have looked at
- Mesopotamia (any)

- Have at least 3 idea sketches
- Show enough details that your idea is clear
- Use color, shading or numbering to determine at what level each part of your sculpture is (for carving with ease)

- Sculpture is in a style similar to Ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, or Mesopotamian Art
- The sculpture is an original design

- The sculpture has been carved well making a clear and clean image
- The sculpture was sanded smooth *wooden sculptures will make an allowance for difficulties with the material
- Sculpture appears finished
Complexity
- The sculpture was carved at multiple levels rather than one or two flat surfaces
- The sculptural image is detailed showing one complex image or multiple smaller images
- Image takes up most of the block surface area
